# Beta Afterthoughts

After extending the beta phase until the 29th of December, and the entire team enjoying a well-deserved break during this holiday season, we're back to work. We are excited to share our thoughts on the beta phase, and the future of `color:fuchsia:asobiSW`.

As we had foreseen, the beta phase for our infrastructure and `color:fuchsia:asobiSW` was a success. Hell did not break loose, and we were able to identify and fix a lot of bugs.  
<em style="color: var(--color-text-secondary);font-size: 12px;">Only if you ignore that pesky FPS bug that took one too many hours from Oswald's sleep, screeching at his screen.</em>

So you might be wondering, what's next?

# Refining perfection, onto release

We are ironing out all the bugs reported during the beta phase, implementing the last features we had to postpone (like the website ranks), and preparing the infrastructure for the release.  
Plus, we are working on a few **`rainbow:custom features`**, so stay very tuned for that.

We have opened our first survey to gather your `color:red:very valuable` feedback on the beta phase, and the future of `color:fuchsia:asobiSW`.

# Twist in the tale

Over a week ago, _LionGames_, the original developer of _SoulWorker_, announced that they were ceasing development of the game, and left the future of the game in the hands of _Valofe_. <em style="color: var(--color-text-secondary);font-size: 12px;">That if you let us throw some shade, it is a company that has a reputation for pay-to-win models and NFTs.</em>

This has led us to reevaluate our strategy for `color:fuchsia:asobiSW`. Initially, we were aiming to mirror the updates from the Korean server, but we are now pivoting towards crafting unique, custom content.  
We are working on developing custom tooling to extensively modify the game, with the goal of being able to create new maps, costumes, content and in-game systems. As well as a plethora of quality-of-life improvements.

# Journey Ahead

We are sharing our roadmap for the next few months with you. Our first goal after release will be to update the game to the latest version of the Korean server, ensuring that we're going to be on the last _canonical_ version of the game before we start working extensively on our custom content.
